At the age of 17, I was offered the opportunity to work as an illustrator creating cartoons and visual aids for elementary school books. Following, I entered the exciting world of advertising at a weekly newspaper as a graphic designer. I then moved on to a major daily newspaper, where soon thereafter was promoted to assistant art director. Prior to digital design, graphic design work was done on the drawing board. I love having that 'old school' knowledge, experience and understanding which provided a solid base. Being self-taught on the computer opened the door to more creative options, tools and goodies with which to experiment. Years later, I worked for a private company as art director, supervisor and negotiated advertising contracts with various publications. It was at that point in time, I had also built-up a substantial freelance client base. In 1997, I incorporated Raven & Crowe, Inc. with the goal of providing excellence in graphic design and customer service. That goal has never changed.
